VERITAS BIOTECNOLOGIA LTDA. was created in 2008 by enterprising scientists with more than 30 years of accumulated experience in post‐genomic technological platforms.

VERITAS is already considered a reference in advanced protein analysis in the country for the quality and agility in delivering results and seeks to become a leading organization in Research, Development and Innovation.

Our platform includes state-of-the-art technologies to solve all protein analysis needs in the country.

It can be applied, with minimal modifications, to virtually any cell, tissue or sample type, whether of human, animal, plant or bacterial origin.

Founding Partner/Director of R&D

PhD in Molecular Diagnostics from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in the USA (2004-2008). Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (1997), Master's (2000) and Ph.D. (2004) in Molecular Biology from the Escola Paulista de Medicina/UNIFESP. It has a Patent entitled “Lung Cancer Diagnosis” (US2012100558).

Dr. Vitor M. Faça

Founder

PhD in Clinical Proteomics from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (2004-2008). Bachelor in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (1995), Master's (1998) and Doctorate (2002) in Biological Sciences from the Escola Paulista de Medicina/UNIFESP. It has two patents: “Methods and kits for detecting ovarian cancer from blood” (US2010/038899) and “Pancreatic cancer biomarkers” (US2010/0092476). He is currently Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, USP.

Company History

VERITAS BIOTECNOLOGIA LTDA., which uses the trade name Veritas Life Sciences (VLS), was created in 2008 on the initiative of four entrepreneurial scientists with the aim of returning to Brazil after years of professional experience in leading institutions and companies in biomedical research and biotechnology in the United States. All members of the Veritas founding team have a postdoctoral degree in science and/or business experience in the United States (USA). More than 30 years of experience accumulated by the partners in research, development and innovation (R&D&I) of post genomic technological platforms, applied to the study of diseases and diagnosis, resulted in multiple publications, patent registrations and commercial product launches .

In June 2008, Veritas had its business plan selected for admission as an incubated company at the SUPERA Incubator (USP – Ribeirão Preto). Its business plan was even selected for presentation at the BioVenture Forum organized by FINEP and the Biominas Foundation within the Biolatina 2008 calendar. notably through the approval and successful implementation of several innovative projects supported by development agencies, such as FAPESP, CNPQ (RHAE) and FINEP. Currently, Veritas has R&D projects at an advanced stage (pre-clinical) and being successfully carried out, a well-trained and motivated team and is about to deposit two patents.

In addition, our biotechnology services business was established and Veritas is already considered a reference in advanced protein analysis in the country due to the quality and agility in delivering results. We were recently selected to integrate the Technological Park of Ribeirão Preto, which made our expansion possible. In this current scenario, Veritas is actively seeking private partners.
